Viva Italia!

I need to write about Italy. ANYWAY, it was amazing and inspiring! I LOVE it and I NEED to go back. Looking at the huge frescoes and paintings makes me want to work larger (especially for a bigger/better impact... :)

My first time oil painting properly... it feels like a mixture of drawing and sculpture. It's fun but I wish it wasn't so messy ughh I'm lazyyy

Figure painting 3 hrs -- I love the palette knife!

I layered on top of an older painting....

...still unfinished but let's be honest, will I ever re-stretch it to paint it again?

Funny how things work out

From my figure drawing class last quarter. I think it was 20 minutes??? My teacher was really chill and allowed us to do anything (literally). At first, I worked with a lot of different media (the one above was done in SAI :) but after awhile, I got bored and stopped drawing figures entirely. I ended up doing some installation project instead (...!!!) Now that I'm not in the class, I want to draw figuressss! Funny how things work out :/

Also, I have been breaking away from lines (and line art in general) for such a long time only to find myself going back to it.....

What you see is what you get

So once again, my perception professor shows us another great illusion artist, Shigeo Fukuda *_* He personifies Gestalt psychology perfectly! Some of his amazing works can be seen here or here. I especially love his shadow art!! I can't work 3D but I really admire those who do :)

Random drawings (?) I did for my figure drawing class (wtf, I know):

This was my first relief print from last quarter and it was also my favorite. It was the first time I took printmaking and I quite like it!! :D
